Levi and Kevin

Levi Fredrikson was raised in the rural south of Minnesota.  An avid gardner since nine years of age, Levi headed to UW-Madison to study Agronomy and later to Oregon State University where he earned a M.S. Horticulture and a minor in Adult Education.  While teaching courses in Cropping Systems and Organic Farming, Levi noticed a serious lack of audio-visual educational tools regarding the value of farming.  Being a technological oaf, he gave his friend Kevin a call…”Interested in living out of a car and visiting farms this season?”

Kevin Molter grew up in southeastern Wisconsin.  While completing a B.S. in Electrical Engineering at UW-Madison he developed a passion for photography and upon moving to Eugene, Oregon he became increasingly interested in farming.  His buddy Levi and the Why Farm? Project presented him with the perfect opportunity to make use of his technical background and hone his photographic skills while sharing our understanding of why people farm.
